Hi!

This Sunday I’m going to decorate a baby shower. I am going to make a question mark of 5 inch balloons. But I do have a busy weekend.

Is it possible to inflate the balloons Friday night or Saturday evening?? Without them getting all dull and dusty?

ANSWER

Hello there!

Yes, you can inflate your air-filled 5 inch balloons a couple of days before the event.

To prevent them from oxidizing, store them in tightly closed large plastic bags.

I'd also recommend to keep them in a dark, cool place. Keep an eye on the room temperature. There shouldn't be much of a temperature difference between the storage room and the venue.

Otherwise you could have issues with the balloons shrinking (if they go from a warmer to a colder environment) or bursting (if they go from cool to warm).

If you want to keep the balloons extra shiny, check out these tips about reducing oxidation on latex balloons.

Wishing you lots of success with your baby shower balloon decor.
