Using Balloon Shine to prevent latex balloons from oxidizing

Is there a product you recommend to help reduce oxidation on latex balloons that you are using outside? Thanks Andrea

ANSWER:

Hi Andrea,

There are various products that help prevent latex balloons from oxidizing. They are usually silicone based sprays or liquids.

From my experience, one of the best products is called Balloon Shine.

You spray it onto the balloon and then rub it gently over the whole surface with the cotton glove that should come with the bottle. If you don't have a glove, use a soft cotton or microfiber cloth.

The guys from Balloon Market talk about Balloon Shine in this video:

Another option would be HiShine from the makers of Hi Float.

You just spray the solution on the balloon. No wiping necessary, according to the manufacturer.

I've seen good and bad reviews for both products. I would buy a bottle each and test which one works best for you.

Hope that helps!

Margit
