Balloon with tulle

by Ida
(Sydney)

I purchased the 36 inch balloon and I got helium in it, then I put tulle with ribbon and flower around and noticed the balloon didn't float up when I did put the tulle on...

Is it because it's too heavy? And how can I keep it floating up?!!! With the tulle on?

ANSWER:

Hi Ida,

According to this latex balloon / helium chart, a fully inflate 36 inch latex balloon has a lifting capacity of 12 ounces or 339 gram.

Do you know if the tulle, ribbon and flowers you used to decorate the balloon weigh more or less than this amount?

The balloon's environment also affects its floating ability, like temperature, air pressure and humidity.

Also make sure to use only high quality latex balloons (e.g. from Qualatex), good quality helium and that you inflate the balloon to its full size.

Hope that helps,
Margit
