Where Can I Buy Balloon Heart Frames?

I have checked some websites that were recommended by Balloon-Decoration-Guide.com in answers to some of the questions posted here. This was very helpful.

Unfortunately the site that I tried does not sell to the general public. I would be grateful if anyone knows of a place where they do.

I am looking for a frame to make a heart and the number 40, both about 5ft tall.

ANSWER: Where to Buy the Frame for Making a Balloon Heart

Hey Mandy,

I'm glad to hear that you find the information on BloonsUp (aka Balloon-Decoration-Guide.com) useful.

If you search for balloon arch heart frame on Amazon you'll find frames in various shapes and sizes.

A popular choice with good reviews is the LANGXUN Heart Arch stand. It's about 7.5 ft high and wide and comes in white and gold versions.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on the frames (as I suppose you are not a professional balloon decorator who would re-use the frames), you might want to try making the frames yourself.

You'll find the necessary materials and some basic instructions on this page about how to make a star or heart frame.

However, for a free standing heart, I would suggest to use 1/2" conduit instead of aluminium rod.

Good luck with your decorations.

Margit

Reply to Myra: Connectors Popping Apart on the Heart Frame
by: Margit

Hi Myra!

You're certainly not alone with this problem. Lots of balloon decorators struggle with arch or column connectors coming lose when they attach the balloon clusters to them.

Possible reasons:

* The twist or threading of the connectors is worn out. (You said that the first time you used the frame it didn't happen, only the second time.)

* You might be inadvertently twisting and therefore losening the connectors when you twist your balloon clusters around the frame.

* Pushing the balloons too tightly together, which puts too much pressure on the connectors and so they're coming apart (which you mentioned in your comment).

* Some people also mentioned that using balloon shine could be a reason, as it may lessen the "grip" of the threading that holds the connectors together.

Potential fixes:

* Use stronger tape to secure the joints. Most suitable types are Gorilla tape or Gaffers tape.

* Go diagonal when applying the tape. If you go straight across, it doesn't grip as well.

* If possible, don't push the balloon clusters together quite as tightly. Tricky to do, I know, because then you may have the problem of the frame showing through.

* If all else fails, glue the frame parts together with super glue — but then you can't take the frame apart any more. So not an ideal solution!

Hope that helps, Myra.

Would love to know if any of these suggestions helped you solve the issue or if you perhaps found an even better solution yourself.

Best,

Margit

connectors pop apart on my heart sharp frame
by: Myra

I purchased a heart shaped frame from Walmart. My problem is the connectors keep popping loose. I tried tapping the connectors together which worked the first time however the next time I tapped it, because I pushed the balloons together for a tight fix they popped loose again. How do I keep the connectors from popping loose?
