Problem with Link-o-Loons Popping

I am a first time user of Link-o-Loons and was building columns with the black and orange. I sized them to 12" with helium and after i had assembled them... a few minutes to fifteen minutes later they were popping like crazy.

I couldnt believe it... about 15 or so popped at various times. I started to inflate them to 11" and they didn't pop anymore. Is this a common problem with the LOL? Maybe the colors I used? I want to use them again, but am afraid if one pops, i could lose my whole column or arch. Any hints to help me out?

Hi Charisse,

I don't think the popping was specifically related to the balloons being link-o-loons. At least I didn't have this problem when working with link-o-loons. Perhaps it was the environment you were working in? Were you indoors or outdoors? Were the balloons exposed to sun and/or heat? Or to a rapid change in temperature?

If none of the above is true, then you could continue inflating them to 11", as this obviously stopped the popping. You might also want to have a look at this Link-o-Loon Tutorial, to find more tips about working with link-o-loons.
