My mom and I are planning on making air-filled swags with the 6" link-o-loons. We have never worked with link-o-loons before. How many days in advance can we blow up the balloons? Any tips for making them easier to work with? Will it be easier if we have some clips or disks to tie them off? Thank you!

ANSWER

Hi Courtney,

Some professionals blow up their air filled balloons up to 3 weeks before the event, but I would suggest you should inflate them a maximum of 5 days in advance.

To prevent them from oxidising it's very important to store the inflated balloons in a clear plastic bag, and close the bag tightly over the balloons.

Large trash bags (55 galloon clear drum bin liners) will do the job just fine. If you want a more professional and stronger solution, try the 36" x 28" x 60" Giant Poly Bag Cover/Liner from Associated Bags (US only).

As for working with the link-o-loons: they are pretty easy to work with. All you have to do is inflate the link-o-loons and knot them together with their especially for this purpose designed ends.

I hope that helps and - as always - I would love to see your link-o-loon swags!

Best,
Margit
